Murphy (9th June 1995-16th November 2007)

I Believe in Angels cause that’s what you were to me,
And in this last remembrance, I shall plant a tree.
To tell you that you’re always near, In thought and in my heart,
My Faithful True Companion, Circumstances had us part.

You were my reliable Friend, The best any human ever had,
I could count on  Murphy. To support me when I was sad.
It’s as if you had an instinct, To come and comfort me.
And for each precious moment, You gave unconditionally.

I would lay my head upon you, And there your support would be,
To feel your Love so close, Would comfort and enfold me.
Remembering the time, You brought me, Forget-me-nots,
You looked so proud as you walked towards me, Angry I was not.

You had a language, Of your own, Not many humans would understand,
But they didn’t know you like I did, When you lived upon this land.
During obedience training, You surely made me proud,
When you achieved rosettes, I wanted to shout it very loud.

Your handsomeness and intelligence, Was spotted soon by Pam,
She being our obedience instructor, Had an ultimate plan.
She said that you were good enough, To enter into Crufts,
Alas I was so nervous, And thought, I wasn’t good enough.

I should have placed more trust in you, As you always showed in me,
So this is why I write these words, For all the world to see.
I love you Murph, And always will, In that there is no doubt,
I’m finding it hard to live my life, When I know, I am without.

My Son, My Pal, My  Four Legged Friend, Hear my heart’s last cry,
To touch and hold you one more time, My Angel in the sky.
