IN MEMORY OF BOB
When first we met, you were a tired old man
In a cold bleak kennel you lay
The look on your face was so, so sad
I couldnt leave you that day
I took you home, you settled in
As if you had been there from the start
A very special dog indeed
With a special place in my heart
I knew our time would be too short
So I cherished every day
You stayed close by me all the time
You were never far away
The months went by too quickly
You started to grow frail
Sleeping more than waking
But still you wagged your tail
When we made that final journey
I held you close to me
I hid my face in your golden fur
So my tears you wouldnt see
I whispered be a brave boy
You silently slipped away
No more pain would hurt you
In peaceful rest you lay
By now you will have made it to the Bridge
Young again and free
Thank you Bob for the time we had
Thank you for loving me.
